About KURLU.

KURLU is a small team building something we genuinely needed ourselves, for the Australian outdoor community.

The idea for KURLU started when my wife Joanne and I began planning a big adventure around Australia. We packed up life at home, loaded up our Essential Outlander caravan, and set off to explore the country with our two dogs, Keith and Stuart.

Our goal was simple: spend more time outdoors, discover new places, and experience Australia properly.

Like many people in the outdoor community, YouTube quickly became part of our daily routine. I spent hours watching fishing content, while Joanne focused on caravanning and camping channels, discovering new locations, practical ideas, and upgrades we could apply to our own journey.

But the more we searched, the more frustrating it became.

Finding Australian creators wasn't always easy. Incredible local content was often buried under global recommendations, unrelated videos, and endless algorithm noise.

We didn't want to be told what to watch, we wanted a way to discover creators based on where we were travelling and the outdoor experiences we cared about.

That's when the idea for KURLU came to life.

KURLU is designed to highlight Australian outdoor creators and make it easier for viewers to discover great content across fishing, camping, caravanning and 4WD adventures.

Our goal is simple: help people find Aussie creators, support the community behind them, and bring the Australian outdoor YouTube ecosystem together in one place.

KURLU exists to support the creators sharing their journeys, and the people out there living them.
